This is the newly established department of the Gurunanak College of Pharmacy. Quality assurance plays a vital part in the drug development, maintenance of quality of pharmaceuticals. It is the department which is responsible for ensuring that all the appropriate procedures have been followed and documented so that the quality of the product can be assured. The postgraduate course in quality assurance deals with the preparation of standard operating procedures, validation of pharmaceutical processes, cleaning of equipments, study of good manufacturing practices and good laboratory practices, recent analytical method for the quality control of pharmaceuticals and cosmetic products, total quality management for ensuring the quality environment throughout. The department has research laboratories that are well equipped with sophisticated instruments and equipments.
