Gurunanak College of Pharmacy has established an Equal Opportunity Cell as per UGC Guidelines for Scheme of Equal Opportunity Cell for Colleges, XII-2012-2017 Plan (2026-2027). The Equal Opportunity Cell objective is to address the issues related to staff & students belonging to Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe, other Backward Caste, minorities, gender, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on a continual basis.

• AIM: To support student and staff from SC, ST, OBC, minority communities, women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) etc.
• OBJECTIVES:
• 1. Promote Inclusion: Ensure equitable access to social and cultural college life.
• 2. Prevent discrimination: Implement zero tolerance policies regarding discrimination based on caste, creed, religion, language, gender or disability.
• 3. Support scheme: Facilitate government scholarship, remedial coaching and welfare schemes for disadvantaged groups.
• FUNCTIONS:
• • Prevent Discrimination: Enforce zero-tolerance policies against bias based on caste, gender, religion, or disability.
• • Support Schemes: Facilitate government scholarships and remedial coaching for underrepresented students.
• • Grievance Redressal: Address complaints promptly and provide a safe reporting mechanism.
• • Awareness Programs: Conduct workshops on social inclusion, legal rights, and gender sensitization

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions:

• • Enforcement of Equal opportunity Policy of GNCP.
• • To prevent the commission of offenses of atrocities against the members of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and any discrimination of any sort with any individual.
• • Prevention and redressal of complaints for matters associated herewith.
• • Ensuring opportunities for socially or physical backward classes.
